Minden Hills warmly welcomes you to the gateway of Haliburton County through its website. We are located two and a half hours north east of Toronto and a relaxing scenic drive north of the Region of Durham.
Minden Hills is enchantingly rural and we are very proud of our heritage; however, we are also an extremely progressive township which is reflected in our recently completed projects; namely, our newly constructed 5,000 square foot library expansion, our expanded Cultural Centre and R.D. Lawrence Place, the Minden Riverwalk loop-trail that hugs the shores of the spectacular Gull River and delights visitors as it meanders through the Village of Minden, as well as the many sculptures completed by very talented local artists and carvers. Installation of the new Clergy House Bridge and the floating snowmobile bridge (winter months) has been completed. Construction of an elevated Water Tower is scheduled for 2010. Subsequent to the completion of this project, we look forward to welcoming a new Canadian Tire store and Marks Work Wearhouse.
In addition to the above, a new 1.5 km wetland boardwalk project will also be underway this year - running north from the Minden Riverwalk to the Minden Hills Cultural Centre and Community Centre/Arena. This project also includes new sidewalks and benches down Bobcaygeon Road from Parkside Crescent to the downtown core, making it easier for seniors and those less agile to access the retail shops in Minden Village. New residential development is underway as well, within walking distance to the Village of Minden and the Haliburton Highlands Health Services Hospital.
