Subject: Cooling Centre Open at SG Nesbitt Memorial Arena

The Township of Minden Hills is opening a Cooling Centre at the SG Nesbitt Memorial Arena (55 Parkside St., Minden) in Community Room 1 and 2, on Tuesday June 18 and Wednesday June 19, 2024, from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

During a high heat alert, the public are reminded to:

• Drink plenty of fluids.
• Dress in cool, loose clothing and shade your head with a hat or umbrella.
• Rest frequently in shaded areas.
• Never leave infants, children, or pets in a parked car.
• Check regularly on family, friends or neighbours who are at higher risk of heat-related illnesses and who do not have air conditioning.
• Seek shelter indoors or in the shade.

Residents / visitors may also visit the Haliburton Library Minden Branch (176 Bobcaygeon Rd., Minden) during operating hours.
