Join the Minden Hills Cultural Centre and Haliburton County Public Library – Minden Branch for a screening of "Lay Down Your Heart" (2022) at the Cultural Centre at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2024. Admission is free, and all ages are welcome. The documentary is provided courtesy of the National Film Board (NFB).

This documentary explores the life of Niall McNeil, an artist and theatre performer with Down syndrome, and his richly imaginative world. The film portrays McNeil's relationships with a diverse group of individuals he considers family, blending real-life connections with elements of fantasy. It highlights how creativity and love define family beyond traditional boundaries. The Cultural Centre is located at 176 Bobcaygeon Road, Minden, Ontario, and is open Tuesday to Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
