Subject: The Township of Minden Hills Canada Day Celebrations 2025

The Township of Minden Hills will be hosting its annual Canada Day Event on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. Check out our full schedule of fun below!

Downtown Minden 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

7:30am: Fishing Derby Registration Starts

8:00am – 11:00am: Fishing Derby Begins

10:00am - 2:00pm: Vendors and Exhibitors

10:00am – 2:00pm: Antique Car Show by the Haliburton Highlands Time Travellers along Water Street

10:00am: Opening Ceremonies

10:30am: Fashion Show

11:00 am: Last call for Fishing Derby Weigh-in

11:30am: Canada Day Cupcakes giveaway from the Township of Minden Hills at the Community Services tent *while supplies last

1:00pm: Rubber Duck Race hosted by the Minden Agricultural Society

Cultural Centre (176 Bobcaygeon Rd.) 10:00a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

10:00am - 4:00pm: Activities throughout the day

10:00am - 2:00pm: Air Bounce Inflatables, complimentary face painting by Pockets

12:00pm: Ice Cream giveaway, sponsored by Kawartha Dairy *while supplies last

SG Nesbitt Memorial Arena – Super Dogs Shows

Admission to shows by donation, doors will open 30 minutes in advance, main entrance lower parking lot.

Show are 30 minutes in length with a 10 – 15-minute pet and chat afterwards with ability to take photos.

Shows: 11:00am, 1:00pm, and 3:00pm

Bouncy castle in gymnasium, 30 minutes pre and post show

Minden Fairgrounds (2048 Fleming Rd.):

Fireworks by Supernova at Dusk. Parking will be available in the upper field and can be accessed from Fleming Road (Ball diamond entrance). Please be aware there are no parking attendants.

From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. you can check out the following vendors downtown:

Canoe FM, Century 21 Granite Realty Group Inc., Pride in the Highlands, Haliburton Time Travellers, Haliburton Highlands Outdoors Association Fish Hatchery, Minden Horticultural Society, Minden Community Food Bank, OCWA (water buggy), Mini Pancake Tent, Minden Lions Club, Minden Rotary Club, Highland Hills United Church, Our Lady of Fatima Parish, Mulligan’s, Haliburton Rotary, Minden Agricultural Society, Roasty Toasty Campfire Co., Haliburton Huskies and Aging Together as Community.

Reminder:  Please bring a refillable water bottle to use, as there is an OCWA Water refill station to fill your water bottles, downtown by public washrooms.

Road Closures:

The following road closures will be in effect during the event:

• Water street From Bobcaygeon Road to St. Germaine Street
• Prince Street from St. Germaine to Water Street
• Milne Street from Newcastle Street to Prince Street
  
  Public Dock (Water Street): 
  The public dock will be closed to boat traffic, due to the in-water activities 8:00am – 2:00pm.
