General Information

• The fitness room is located in the S.G. Nesbitt Memorial Arena at 55 Parkside Street.
• It is available for use Monday through Sunday from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
• Clean, indoor shoes are required for all fitness room users.
• Change room facilities including showers are available on the main floor.

Rules and Regulations

• A fitness centre membership must be presented upon each entry to the facility. You will not be permitted in without a membership. If you have forgotten your membership, a temporary day pass must be purchased.
• Proper, clean, athletic footwear must be worn. Bare feet, sandals, work boots or dress shoes are not acceptable. Shoes worn outside are not permitted.
• A full shirt with sleeves must be worn. Halter tops, tank tops, shirts bearing midriff or torn shirts are not permitted.
• Shorts, short or long track pants, wind pants or tights are permitted. Jeans, zippers, belts, snaps, metal studs, and other materials on clothing that may damage equipment, upholstery or flooring are not permitted.
• Gym bags, knapsacks, jackets, keys and other personal belongings are not allowed in the Fitness Centre and cannot be stored at the front desk area. Lockers are available for day use or long-term rental.
• No food, gum, cans or glass bottles in the fitness facility. Only plastic or metal water bottles are permitted. Silicone sleeve glass water bottles permitted. All beverage containers must remain closed when not in use.
• Participants under 17 years of age are not permitted without adult supervision.
• Ask a staff member for assistance if you are unsure about proper use of any equipment.
• The Fitness Centre is a fragrance and odour-free zone.
• Cell phone use for talking or messaging is prohibited in the fitness centre. Photography and audio/video recording is prohibited in all areas of the facility without prior approval.
• All exercisers are responsible for ensuring they have a spotter during free weight exercises.
• Slamming or dropping weight stacks, plates, or dumbbells is prohibited. Always maintain control while exercising.
• Users must return dumbbells/bars/weights to their appropriate storage racks when finished. Bars are to be stripped of weight after each use.
• Never rest any weights against walls, on floor, or on top of benches.
• Always wipe down equipment with microfiber cloth and cleanser after use.
• Exercise equipment should be used for its intended purpose. No modifications can be made to exercise equipment. For example, propping benches on top of other exercise equipment and wedging barbells in a corner is strictly prohibited.
• Report injuries, damage to equipment, or other concerns promptly to weight room attendant or other staff members.
• Stop your workout and seek help immediately if you experience any injury including light-headedness, dizziness, nausea, or any other discomfort.
• Private personal training not permitted without permission in advance from staff or No outside personal training/exercise instruction is allowed.
