Museum and Heritage Village

The Minden Hills Museum & Heritage Village has been bringing local history to life since 1984. This picturesque site invites visitors to imagine what life was like 150 years ago back when Minden was a rough and tumble logging town.

The Heritage Village is made up of five historic buildings, moved here to preserve and celebrate Minden's history. Visit us to tour Bowron House, a log cabin from the 1860s with a working woodstove, practice your spelling at the Stanhope Schoolhouse, and explore exhibits in the Stirling Bank building.

The Museum and Heritage Village is open for self-guided tours from Victoria Day long weekend to Thanksgiving weekend, Tuesday to Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm.  Daily hands-on activities are offered in June, July and August.
