Subject: Programming activities at the Minden Hills Cultural Centre Spring 2026
The Cultural Centre will be offering the following spring programs and events for the community.
"Egg”venture in the Village will take place on Saturday, April 4, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Participants can arrive at 10:00 a.m. to enjoy a special story time presented by the Haliburton County Public Library before heading out to hunt for eggs. The egg hunt will take place in the Heritage Village. Participants can claim prizes and decorate their eggs at Nature’s Place. Please bring a basket to collect your eggs! Admission is by donation.
Documentary Screenings
In partnership with the Haliburton County Public Library and the National Film Board of Canada, the Cultural Centre will present three free Documentary Screenings this spring:
· Earth to Mouth (2002) — April 2 at 1:00 p.m.
· The Colour of Ink (2022) — May 7 at 1:00 p.m.
· Wilfred Buck (2024) — June 18 at 1:00 p.m.
Opening of the Minden Hills Museum & Heritage Village
The Minden Hills Museum & Heritage Village officially opens for the season on Saturday, May 16, 2026 welcoming visitors back to the Nature’s Place Interpretive Centre and the Agnes Jamieson Gallery. The Season Opening, running from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., will feature a Victorian tea, early settlers’ games and crafts, guided tours, and interactive displays, with a special live exotic animal presentation by Browning Reptiles from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. It’s a full day of hands-on heritage, family fun, and community celebration.
Starting Friday, May 22, our regular Drop-in Programs begin, including Toddler Discovery Zones on Fridays from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and Hands-on Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A special PA Day Activity takes place on June 5, featuring crafts and a free screening of Finding Nemo (2003) at 1:00 p.m.
From June 23 to 27, visitors are invited to celebrate National Pollinator Week with daily pollinator crafts activities and the Stepping into Nature exhibit at Nature’s Place.
The Minden Hills Cultural Centre is located at 176 Bobcaygeon Road, Minden, Ontario and is open year-round from Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
