Summer Recreation Student

We are currently accepting resumes for a Summer Recreation Student (Camp Counsellor) to join the Community Services Department team for the 2026 summer season, July 1 to August 29, 2026.

This existing vacancy is an excellent opportunity for a student who enjoys working outdoors and is interested in working with young people. The Summer Student assists with the development and delivery of summer recreation programs and initiatives for the municipality. 

Hours will be based on 35 hours/week and involve variable shifts. The rate of pay is
$18.00/hour, pending 2026 budget and grant funding approval.

To be eligible, students must be a minimum of 15 years of age, and enrolled in, or returning to school in the fall of 2026. A clean Vulnerable Sector police check is required for this position. Preference will be given to those with experience working with children. The ability to work independently and in a team environment and attention to detail is critical. Proven leadership, customer service, cash handling & communication skills are required.
