The Ministry of Natural Resources– Bracebridge-Minden-Parry Sound District is advising area residents that a Watershed Conditions Statement - Water Safety bulletin is in effect in the District until Friday, March 13, 2026 This message will affect residents within the MNR Bracebridge-Minden-Parry Sound District for portions of the District of Parry Sound, District of Muskoka, and County of Haliburton within the Black, Boyne, Burnt, Gull, Pickerel, Seguin, Severn, Magnetawan and Muskoka River Watersheds.

As part of the ongoing second phase of its Service Delivery Review, the County of Haliburton and its four member municipalities have issued a public survey regarding municipal communications.

The brief survey can be accessed on the County of Haliburton’s public engagement platform at wadein.haliburtoncounty.ca.

Public Notice that the Corporation of the Township of Minden Hills proposes to consider a by-law to stop up, close, and convey parcel of land more particularly described as follows:

1.    File No. PLRA2025102: The Original Allowance for a Road, Part of Lot 76 and Part of Sixth Street Registered Plan No. 172 and is identified as Allister Street and locally known as McKay Street, lying in front of Property Roll #4616-010-000-59300, Geographic Township of Anson

Spring Half Load Restrictions will be in effect on all the Township of Minden Hills Highways and Roads beginning on Friday March 6, 2026.

Families are invited to join us at the Minden Hills Cultural Centre for March Break Drop-In Programs at Nature’s Place from Monday, March 16 to Friday, March 20, 2026. Each day will feature a mini discovery session followed by hands-on activities

The Strategic Plan Prioritization Survey deadline has been extended to Sunday, March 1, 2026. 

2026 Municipal Election is scheduled for October 26, 2026. Requirements under the Municipal Election Act:

• Nomination Period: May 1, 2026 to August 20, 2026 (regular business hours);   August 21, 2026 (9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.)
• Candidates must submit signatures of 25 eligible voters, in their municipality, to support their nomination. (not applicable for School Board Trustee(s))

The Minden Hills Cultural Centre is currently seeking volunteers to assist with the following programming activities and events for Spring 2026

Public Meeting on March 12, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. for both Township initiated Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments, which have application to those lands located within Municipal Well Systems and Municipal Surface Water Systems in the Township of Minden Hills, more specifically being vulnerable areas as identified in the regional Source Protection Plan, within Minden, Lutterworth Pines and Kinmount.
