The Township of Minden Hills Emergency Management Team is working with the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) and Parks Canada regarding weather conditions and the potential for flooding. Continuous monitoring and regular meetings are scheduled with the MNR and Parks Canada during the Spring Freshet.
The Township will have filled sandbags available at the Minden Curling Club (50 Prentice St., Minden) parking lot. If needed, residents and businesses will be able to pick up sandbags starting on Tuesday, April 14, 2026 at 9:00 a.m.
A new public access Automated External Defibrillator (AED) unit has been installed in downtown Minden to help enhance community safety and emergency response

The Ministry of Natural Resources – Bracebridge-Minden-Parry Sound District is advising
area residents and visitors that a Flood Watch is in effect in the district until Friday, April

Fire Season begins on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 meaning that outdoor burning is prohibited between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
