Subject: Cooling Centre Open at SG Nesbitt Memorial Arena – July 13, 2026

The Township of Minden Hills is opening a Cooling Centre at the SG Nesbitt Memorial Arena (55 Parkside St., Minden) in the Lobby area, on Monday, July 13 to Thursday, July 16, 2026.

S.G. Nesbitt Memorial Arena Facility Hours:

• Monday, July 13 to Thursday, July 16 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
• Open daily from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

During a high heat alert, the public is reminded to:

• Drink plenty of fluids.
• Dress in cool, loose clothing and shade your head with a hat or umbrella.
• Rest frequently in shaded areas.
• Never leave infants, children, or pets in a parked car.
• Check regularly on family, friends or neighbours who are at higher risk of heat-related illnesses and who do not have air conditioning.
• Seek shelter indoors or in the shade.

Residents / visitors may also visit the Haliburton Library Minden Branch (176 Bobcaygeon Rd., Minden) during operating hours. 

• Tuesday, July 14 & Wednesday, July 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• Thursday, July 16 from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
