Subject: Minden Hills Ends State of Emergency – April 29, 2026
Effective April 29, 2026, the Township of Minden Hills terminates the state of emergency that was enacted on April 14, 2026.
The Township of Minden Hills declared a state of emergency on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, in response to the flood conditions and the escalating impacts to the community and infrastructure.
Parks Canada and the MNR indicate the water levels are stabilizing and they will continue to monitor water levels over the next two weeks. Regular collaboration with Township representatives will also continue over this time.
Mayor Carter shared, “After 15 days the situation is stable, although the water levels will be fluctuating over the next two weeks”. The information and data indicate the water levels are manageable at this point. The Mayor also shared “When our community is faced with adversity, the best comes out in Minden Hills. We come together, help one another with acts of care and kindness. It is inspiring and I say a sincere thank you to everyone.”
