Subject: New Exhibit at the Agnes Jamieson Gallery, Museum of Her by Michèle Karch-Ackerman

The Agnes Jamieson Gallery is pleased to welcome Michèle Karch-Ackerman with her exhibit Museum of Her. The exhibit will be on display in the Kirkwood Room of the Agnes Jamieson Gallery from May 28 to July 18, 2026. An artist talk will take place on Saturday, June 6 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

The exhibit serves as a ghostly capstone for Karch-Ackerman, honoring the wistful period of grief that followed the recent deaths of both her parents. Through it she shares her unusual ancestral connection to Mary Shelley, author of Frankenstein. Augusta Draper, her great-great-great-great-grandmother, was a lifelong friend of Edward Trelawney, a close companion of Percy and Mary Shelley and their circle, including Lord Byron. Karch-Ackerman reached out to Mary Shelley during her own period of mourning, initiating an ethereal correspondence with the famed writer that bridges centuries of loss, imagination, and creative communion.
