RegisterToVoteON.ca is where you’ll find information on eligibility, registration and how to confirm, update or add yourself to the Register.
For questions related to voter registration, you can contact Elections Ontario email info@registertovoteon.ca or call 1.866.242.3025.

School Support Information
- Your school support designation determines which trustee election you can participate in.
- Unless you’ve made a change, your school support defaults to the English-Public school board.
- Make sure your designation reflects your choice—update it by June 1, 2026.
- Elections Ontario maintains the Permanent Register of Electors in Ontario, but MPAC still collects school support information to help municipalities and school boards run smooth elections.
- It’s quick and easy to update your designation online at mpac.ca/schoolsupport
Please note that The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) will remain responsible for collecting school support information from eligible electors.
Voter Eligibility
In accordance with the Municipal Act, a person is entitled to be an elector (voter) at an election held in a local municipality (unless prohibited by this Act or any other Act) if, during the Voting Period, they:
- Are a Canadian citizen,
- Are at least 18 years old,
- Reside in the Township of Minden Hills, or is the owner or tenant of land in the Township of Minden Hills, or the spouse or same-sex partner of such a person; and
- Is not prohibited from voting because they are:
- Serving a sentence of imprisonment in a penal or correctional institution;
- A corporation;

- Was convicted of a corrupt practice described in Section 90(3) of the Municipal Election Act, if voting day in the current election is less than five years after voting day in the election in respect of which he or she was convicted.
Three Ways You Can Qualify to Vote in a Municipality
- As a resident elector if you live in the municipality. You may own, rent, live in shared accommodation where you do not pay rent or live in the municipality but do not have a fixed address. Being a resident elector is the most common type of eligibility.
- As a non-resident elector if you own or rent property in a municipality, but it’s not the one where you live. You can only be a resident elector in 1 municipality. However, you can be a non-resident elector in any other municipality (or municipalities) where you own or rent property.
- As the spouse of a non-resident elector if your spouse owns or rents property in the municipality or municipalities other than the one where you live.
Neither you nor your spouse qualify as a non-resident elector if you do not personally own or rent the property in the municipality. For example, if the property is owned by your business or your cottage is owned by a trust, you would not qualify as a non-resident elector.
